How Leadership Development Creates Impact
On March 15, we hosted the final workshop in the Launch for Good series on Leading with Purpose. Led by Daniele Poggio, the session focused on essential leadership skills for social impact, guiding participants through introspection, communication techniques, and actionable strategies for effective leadership. Through a combination of guided discussions, breakout exercises and leadership frameworks, participants explored how to strengthen their leadership profile while aligning with their social mission.
If you missed the gem-packed session, watch our recap video here:
Key Takeaways
1. Mastering Leadership Starts from Within
Effective leadership always begins with the self. Daniele introduced the Triad Framework by Tony Robbins, which emphasized three pillars for success:
- Physiology: using posture and movement to improve your confidence and presence
- Focus: training the mind to shift from focusing on problems to looking at opportunities, fostering a growth mindset
- Language: using words that will lift you and your team’s morale, motivation and alignment
2. The Power of Purpose
A compelling vision and mission is essential for achieving long-term impact. During the session, participants reflected on their “why”, and assessed how well they have communicated it to the team. Leaders who embed purpose-driven strategies into their organizations tend to cultivate stronger engagement and drive.
3. Creating a Culture of Appreciation
Leadership is not just about strategy – it is also about giving recognition and creating a positive, productive environment. Daniele helped the participants brainstorm best practices for showing appreciation, such as:
- Give timely, sincere compliments to recognize your team’s efforts
- Acknowledge team efforts and small wins to motivate your members
- Use “We”, not “I” – inclusive language fosters collaboration
4. Actionable Steps for Leadership Growth
The session concluded with a goal-setting exercise where participants took some time to define their leadership vision, identify specific leadership skills they want to work on in the next month, and commit to two concrete steps to improve their leadership capabilities.
Daniele’s closing advice was: “Nothing changes unless you take action. Leaders take action.”
